It’s a proud donation from ID Medical to MK Hospital with a teddy bear for every child patient to agree a name for their new friend

Apr 10, 2014.

On Wednesday 9th April, benevolent Milton Keynes based multi-discipline healthcare recruiter, ID Medical, presented its proud donation of £924.31 to Leo’s Appeal at Milton Keynes Hospital to help its valued client achieve its charity’s objective of ensuring that every child admitted receives the best possible care.

The total includes donations from ID Medical’s paediatrics recruitment team’s cake sale fundraiser, and funds raised by Team ID Medical, who completed the Milton Keynes Half Marathon last month.

But the company’s efforts go beyond a cheque presentation to Leo’s Appeal. As part of ID Medical’s client partnership approach, the company introduced a child-centric teddy bear naming past-time, inviting the children on the ward at Milton Keynes Hospital to name their new ID Medical teddy bear, of which more than 30 were given to the welcoming children in-patients on the Paediatrics Ward.

Managing director of ID Medical Group, Deenu Patel said, “As a healthcare recruiter 100 per cent aligned to the requirements of our NHS clients, we deliver evidenced cost efficiencies to the Trust. But with Milton Keynes Hospital we have a community affinity whereby we foster a deeper, compassionate relationship.

“We [ID Medical] have been supporting Leo’s Appeal since its launch back in September 2013 and we are proud to be a participating member of Team Leo.

“We wanted to do something a little different this time round; something that would bring a smile to the children’s faces whilst giving them the all-important decision of naming our teddy bear – which we had made especially for them as patients in the Children’s Ward.”

Fundraising manager Vanessa Holmes at Milton Keynes Hospital Charity added, “ID Medical has made a fantastic contribution to our ultimate goal of raising £200,000 to enhance children’s services at Milton Keynes Hospital and the teddy bear naming game was a unique way to facilitate interaction among the children on the ward. ID Medical has shown great commitment to Leo’s Appeal throughout the year and we look forward to working with them on many future fundraising events.”
